The Lesotho Loti (LSL) is the currency of the Kingdom of Lesotho, a small, landlocked country in southern Africa entirely surrounded by South Africa. Introduced in 1980, the Loti subdivides into 100 lisente and shares a unique monetary relationship with the South African Rand (ZAR), functioning in a 1:1 peg arrangement with it. This dual circulation allows both currencies to be used interchangeably within the nation, facilitating trade and economic interaction across the borders.
